Frequently asked questions

Are peels right for everyone?

Chemical peels are suitable for almost everyone and Medik8 have a varied range from Sensitive PHA peels which are suitable for very sensitive skins right through to Mono peels which use high strenbth single acids that can even be layered to target sutbborn concerns.

What is the downtime?

Yorur skin may be red, your skin may flake and mild peeeling may occur. But every skin is different. I recommend not to wear make up for the first 12 hours post peel to ensure skin remains bacteria free. As a general rule, except flaking from around the 3rd day post peel for a maximum of 5 further days.

What is the aftercare?

You should avoid direct sun exposure during the recovery days and always wear a broad specturm suncreen with an SPF of at least 30 Avoid alcohol and caffenine for 24 hours Avoid heat treatments for 48 hours Avoid Laser treatments and Micro Pigmentation for around 4 weeks Avoid makeup and any activity which causing sweat for 24 hours

What results can I expect?

24 hours post peel your skin is likely to feel a little tight and appear slightly flushed. Within 3 days your skin will start to flake but within the week you will start to see clearer, more uniform skin tone. Over a course of 6 peels results will be even more visibly profound.
